Payers normally require four copies of federal tax forms 1099-INT – one for filing with the IRS center and three for the recipient. Recipients need extra copies as they need to attach one with their annual income tax return if tax is withheld from the interest income paid to them. There may also be a need to file a copy with the local tax department.
